New York, New York... |
So good they named it twice ...
Actually named after a place that is linked to my family History with an (as yet unverified) family tale that we are related to Archbishop Lamplough who is immortalized in the famous York Minster in "old" York in Yorkshire in the UK
New York is quite a place to explore with a camera and this trip was especially fun as I'd been able to afford my E-510 and 11-22mm lens which as a combination really brought my digital SLR's to where I felt they needed to be and I still use those cameras at times.
Most of the pictures in this gallery are self explanatory as they show views of iconic and famous landscapes.
The highlight of New York for me was however the incredible American Museum of Natural History
and especially the Dinosaurs that are displayed there. The main hall exhibit of Allosaurus and Barosaurus is incredible, but nothing really
prepares you for the exhibits of the 2 famous Dinosaur Halls (Hall of Saurischian Dinosaurs and the Hall of Ornithischian Dinosaurs) on the
4th floor of the Museum which together provide the the single largest collection of real dinosaur fossils in the world
These pictures are taken with both the E-500 and E-510 Olympus DSLR's with a variety of lenses
I made a second visit to New York as part of a business trip just after new year 2014 and was able to spend some more time in Times Square, and also at the top of one of the skyscrapers where I was able to enjoy soem spectacular views. On that occasion I was shooting with the E-30 camera
